I was excited to attend my first IEEE PES GM this year in order to receive the John W. Estey Outstanding Scholar award. I got to meet some really awesome leaders in the power industry, and made some connections I hope to continue developing over many years.
One of my favorite events was the Women in Power (WiP) breakfast networking event. The speakers and discussion at the event inspired me to go out with a mission of education and inspiration and as a role model for other young women.
I was honored to receive the Estey award and I hope that this was the first of many opportunities I have to connect with the PES group.
